Our Mission & Leadership
Vital Works exists to solve a problem hiding in plain sight:
High performance cannot be sustained when the biology of stress is ignored.
Through Stress Mastery Academyâ„¢, we help individuals and organizations strengthen nervous system stability in the environments where performance matters most.
Dr. Tami Berry, MD – Founder & CEO
Dr. Tami Berry is a former surgeon and expert in stress physiology and nervous system regulation who founded Vital Works to address a growing challenge in healthcare: the widening gap between the demands placed on clinicians and the biological capacity required to meet them.
During her years in surgical practice, Dr. Berry saw firsthand how sustained exposure to high-stakes decision environments affects the nervous system, often leaving even the most skilled clinicians operating in a state of physiological depletion. Determined to understand the biological mechanisms behind this pattern, she undertook an extensive study of neuroscience, autonomic nervous system regulation, and the physiology of stress.
Her work revealed a critical insight: the issue is not simply the presence of stress, but whether the nervous system has the capacity to remain regulated and fully resourced in the face of it.
This discovery led her to develop Stress Mastery Academy, a science-driven system designed to train the nervous system to remain regulated and fully resourced under pressure. By integrating neuroscience, biometric feedback, and practical nervous system regulation techniques, the program restores the physiological foundation required for sustainable performance in healthcare.
